Here's an original 2005 Gretsch Duo Jet in original Black finish.

Gretsch rolled out the Duo Jet in 1953, but the 1957 specs are probably the most famous, thanks to George Harrison who played a '57 black-top 6128. That year, the Duo Jet featured a lightweight chambered body, two DeArmond Dyna-Sonic pickups, a Gretsch-branded Bigsby tailpiece, a roller "rocking bar" bridge, hump block fingerboard inlays, and of course that eye-catching black finish.

This 2005 Gretsch G6128TSP is part of the "Custom Edition" run from the early 2000s. It features the classic '57 specs with a lacquer finish and aged inlays to capture the '50s vibe. It shows sincere build quality, and it constructed like the American originals with a 24.5" scale length, chambered mahogany body with maple top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. Its specs are almost identical to the George Harrison model, but it doesn't have the Harrison signature truss rod cover.

Functionally, this 2005 Duo Jet is fantastic. It's a deeply resonant and expressive electric guitar. True the to the '50s originals, the Dyna-Sonic pickups have a huge dynamic range. They can be warm, sweet, and subtle, but when you dig in they sizzle and get aggressive. The Bigsby B3C vibrato gives you a little extra color to the tone, and the Grover V98C keep you properly in tune.

Guitar plays and sounds amazing with killer original dynastic pickups that have a real warm, organic tone to them.

Guitar has some honest, minor signs of use.

Comes with original Gretsch hard case.
