Original 1972 Marshall Super Lead 100Watt in original White tolex originally manufactured for Electric Ladyland Studios.
Here is documentation from the previous owner about the amps history:
Originally manufactured for Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland Studios in NYC in Custom White, this Marshall 1972 Superlead 100W amp is still in great shape.
The amp was originally ordered by and used at Electric Ladyland Studios upon receiving it in NYC in 1972, not long after the studio opened (in 1970). (ID stamped on back)
Tim Anderson was the guitar player for a midwestern rock band by the name of Clown, who came through NYC a few years later to record demos. Through an engineer friend, he found out that the studio was selling off some equipment to pay the rent and bought the custom white amp, which he used every night while doing clubs and dances throughout states like Kansas, Iowa, and Minnesota.
By the later 70’s, Clown had played the last of their shows and Anderson moved to Los Angeles to pursue a new career as a recording engineer. He brought the Marshall along and had it fine tuned by a local amp doctor by the name of Jose Arredondo, who went on to become a wizard in the 90’s. https://www.guitarworld.com/gear/amp-wizards. Anderson would use the amp selectively at sessions over the next 16 years, storying it carefully at home when not in use.
Now the amp is available for sale here. It sounds incredible, works great, and is perfect for the player and collector alike.
Cabinet comes with a nice Marshall cabinet cover to protect it.
