Here's an original 1985 Gibson Designer Series Explorer Bass in original Designers Series White with Black Stripes finish.

Produced during a time of bold 1980s styling, this bass balances Gibson's traditional set-neck (dovetail) construction with a distinctively modern, metallic-era design. It is known to offer a thick, highly resonant output suitable for a variety of playing styles. Because production runs were limited, original Designer Series Explorer Basses are highly sought after by collectors and vintage enthusiasts.

Bass is pretty much all original, parts of the bridge are missing certain original screws / saddles which have been replaced with ones we had at the shop.   It plays great regardless.

Tuners are original Gibson tuners, the bridge itself is the original TRI-4 bride.   Pickups, wiring and pots are all original.   Pots are dated 1984.   Serial number dates the bass 1985.

Bass has a lot of wear, scratches and wear on the bottom edge....pretty cool wear actually.

Comes with a newer Explorer Bass gig bag which fits it perfectly.
