1971 Gibson Medallion Flying V #312 Cherry Red

$ 17,999.00

Vintage original 1971 Gibson Medallion Flying V #312 in original Cherry Red finish.

These are quite rare and this is a real nice example with no cracks or breaks.

The 1971 Gibson Flying V Medallion is a limited edition model with only about 350 made to commemorate the 1972 Olympics. It features a V-shaped mahogany body, a short-headstock design based on the 1967 Flying V, and a gold "medallion" coin inlaid on the body that is inscribed with the Gibson logo and a unique serial number.

Neck is straight with no cracks or breaks.   It's nice and slim and plays fantastic.   Super nice low action with every note is true.   No cracks or breaks.   Original Gibson double line Kluson tuners keep the guitar well in tune.

Original pickguard with two original patent number Gibson humbuckers.    Original pots and wiring, two are dated 1970 and one is dated 1971.  There is some newer wire going to the jack and switch which may have been changed at some point.

There is a small patch on the bottom side of the guitar, maybe from a repaired end pin.

Original Gibson Limited Edition Medallion #312.

Don't miss this gem.

Comes with a 1970s Gibson Flying V case, not original to the guitar but period correct.
