Here is a rare bird!   An original 1985 Gibson Custom Shop Edition XPL Explorer with original tune o matic bridge and flames Sunburst finish.     Also features two original Tim Shaw double white humbuckers!

This is a dream guitar.   The killer, innovative 1980s shape is like an Explorer with a cool cutout by the leg so you can actually rest it on your leg while you are playing.....smart.

The original flamed Sunburst finish is to die for.  It is supremely flamed and the Sunburst is nice and bright and vibrant and unfaded.

The neck has a classic sort of Les Paul kind of feel.   It is straight and true and plays great all the way up and down without buzz or issue.   Good, smooth low action.   Just set up here at the shop so she's playing great.

Original double white Tim Shaw pickup have the patent number and the stamp on the bottom.    The tone of them is just out of this world.   Warm and thick and fat and screaming with distortion.

Guitar is clean and original...there are a couple replaced screws in a couple tuners, maybe a screw wore out and was replaced, and a bit of wear to the end of the headstock.   The finish is nicely aged and it's just stunning.
