1969 Gibson SG Standard Cherry Red w/ Original Hardshell Case

$ 5,795.00

This vintage 1969 Gibson SG Standard is a particularly nice example with a vibrant Cherry Red finish, a wonderful feeling neck that is easy to get around on, and vintage Gibson pickups that sound like the angels are singing!

Neck is straight and plays remarkably well. No buzz or issues with a good low action. Just set up here at the shop with a new set of Daddario .10s so it's playing like a dream.

The pickups are vintage Gibson humbuckers, patent stamped, and one has the ink stamp that means it is a Tim Shaw pickup. They sound incredible. Super warm and thick with a clean sound, screaming with distortion. They are nice and even and smooth sounding.

The bridge is original but a stop tailpiece has been added so it plays with a tune-o-matic set up. This makes for better intonation and better tuning. The guitar stays in tune great. Guitar still retains original lyre tailpiece.

Tuners are original Kluson double ring and they are working great.

The pots are original, all dated 1969.

No cracks, no breaks. Honest wear throughout.

There is a filled hole near the controls, probably from a tap switch which was in the guitar at sometime in it's life.

Comes with original vintage Gibson hardshell case though the handle is broken and repaired with tape.
