1960 Guild® M-65 DP Double Pickup
Here is a stunning vintage 1960 Guild M-65 DP Double Pickup archtop electric hollowbody. A remarkably clean and all original sample with original brown hardshell case.
The M-65 debuted in 1959, the guitar’s profile was very similar to the M-75 “Aristocrat”, a high-end model which is today one of the most sought-after Guilds. The M-65 has a maple top, f-holes and only a single pickup. EXCEPT as reported by Daniel Rivera at the Guild Factory “you definitely have a UNIQUE guitar with the dual pickups The M-65 was traditionally built with one a single-coil unit, although SOME dual pickup versions were reported”.
This example the M-65 DP is one of the very rare full scale double pickup versions.
This guitar sports a couple of features that set it apart from the rest of the line. The most prominent is the second pickup. Very few two-pickup M-65s were reported shipped from the Guild factories, they typically have some indication of a special order on the label (M-65dp). The result is a guitar that is quite unusual.
In our opinion, this is one of the most underrated guitar models out there. Come on in and check it out you will see why!
Don't miss this one, perfect for the player and collector alike.
